Poland vs Nigeria: Mikel Doubtful, Etebo & Ajayi Ruled Out
Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi remains a serious doubt for the friendly game against Poland on Friday.
Mikel who plays his club football for Tianjin Teda is reportedly working on renewing his work permit in China.
Super Eagles team administrator Dayo Enebi said: “We all had been hoping that the renewal would come in good time for him to fly to Poland. As it is now, it is not likely that he would make the trip.”
Las Palmas midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo had been ruled out of the friendlies against Poland and Serbia due to injury. He sustained the injury while featuring against Deportivo La Coruna last Saturday.
In the same vein, futballplace.com reported earlier that Junior Ajayi will miss Friday’s match following his failure to sort out visa issues.
However, Leicester City duo, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi as well as Nantes defender Chidozie Awaziem have joined the team in Wroclaw.
The Poland-Nigeria match kicks off at 8:45pm local and Nigerian time (both countries are on the same time zone).
